Weekly NASCAR cheating report
NASCAR docked Reed Sorenson and his Chip Ganassi Racing team docked 25 points Tuesday after the driver's No. 41 Dodge was found to be too low in the front of the car following Sunday's UAW-Ford 500 at Talladega Superspeedway.
Crew chief Jimmy Elledge was fined $25,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31.
The violation was found after Sorenson's 10th-place finish. The car went through NASCAR's height sticks twice and had the car of tomorrow template placed on it in postrace inspection. Sorenson was a random selection for inspection.
