ALMS Petit LeMans TV rating

The weekend crowd of more than 100,000 fans was not Petit Le Mans’ only success last weekend at Road Atlanta. Television ratings were up 35 percent from a year earlier with Nielsen estimating that more than 383,000 viewers tuned into the fall endurance classic.

Seems the world’s premier sports car series is gaining some converts in NASCAR’s backyard as well. The Daytona Beach-Orlando market drew the highest rating (0.82) of all metered markets. Other top markets included Richmond (Va.), Portland (Ore.) and Las Vegas.

The 10th running of Petit Le Mans saw the closest finish in its history with Dindo Capello and Allan McNish of Audi Sport North America nipping Romain Dumas, Timo Bernhard and Patrick Long of Penske Racing by 0.923 seconds. ALMS PR
