De la Rosa interviewed for spy case in Italy
Pedro de la Rosa |
(GMM) On Tuesday it was McLaren test driver Pedro de la Rosa's turn to be interviewed by Italian prosecutors.
The Spaniard and his countryman and teammate Fernando Alonso became embroiled in the espionage saga this year when emails revealed their discussions about the famous 780-page Ferrari dossier.
Like Alonso earlier this month, de la Rosa on Tuesday arrived at the magistrates headquarters in the northern Italian region of Modena, not far from Ferrari's
Maranello base.
The third principal McLaren driver this year, Lewis Hamilton, will not be interviewed, it emerged recently.
Alonso earlier this month was interviewed for two hours, as prosecutors press the criminal case.
The news service ANSA reported in October that the prosecutors, led by magistrate Giuseppe Tibis, were interested to know more about Alonso and de la Rosa's emails, that depict wider knowledge within the team about suspended chief designer Mike Coughlan's possession of the dossier.
The Italian agency also clarified that the Spaniards were not under investigation but were called to appear as informed witnesses.
