McLaren seat would be ‘dream’ – Sutil manager
Shortly after the Woking based team on Friday confirmed the departure of double world champion Alonso, Sutil's manager Manfred Zimmermann was asked by the news agency 'sid' if the German rookie would make an ideal alternative.
The sweetener of the deal would be that, while Alonso clashed with McLaren newcomer Lewis Hamilton in 2007, the British rookie and Sutil are old F3 teammates and still close friends in the paddock.
But Zimmermann told the German agency on Friday: "There has still been no contact with McLaren-Mercedes.
"For Adrian, of course, it would be a dream."
Rookie Sutil often impressed observers with his performances for Spyker this season, and while he has a contract for next year, the parties have not yet confirmed their continuing pairing for 2008.
Indeed, Zimmermann said on Friday that Sutil has several potential options on the table and that he expects a decision in the next two or three weeks.
He added: "We are not in a hurry."
