(L to R) Kelly Pettit, Dan Pettit, and Liz Moses |
(L to R) Kelly Pettit, Dan Pettit, and Liz Moses get together before the start of Sunday's Mexico City race. For the second straight year Kelly and Liz dressed up in race-themed costumes for the race. Dan Pettit confirmed to AutoRacing1.com that he will indeed be buying into an existing Champ Car team for 2008……Attendance Sunday looked slightly down from last year despite the promoter claiming the front straight grandstands were sold out. Official attendance will be announced later……..We hear a new F1 track is being planned for somewhere in Mexico, but won't be built unless Bernie Ecclestone can guarantee them an F1 date…….The NHLR team's reaction to the 22 second penalty was no big deal. "We just need one pass (push) for the lead and then we'll be gone."…….The Minardi team both broke down at the beginning of the race. It was especially disappointing to Doornbos who was battling Power for 3rd place in the final point standings. The team finally fixed his car more than halfway through the race and on lap 46, using a combination of light fuel and P2P Doornbos broke the race lap record by more than 1 second and grabbed the single point he needed to hold off Power for third place in the points.
