Weekly NASCAR cheating report

NASCAR penalized Roush Fenway Racing driver Matt Kenseth 25 Busch Series points and fined crew chief Drew Blickensderfer $10,000 for having the right rear quarterpanel too high in postrace inspection Nov. 10 at Phoenix International Raceway. The loss of 25 points, announced Tuesday, moves Mike Wallace into 10th in the driver standings with one race remaining. Kenseth, who has not competed in 11 races this year, is 14 points behind Wallace.

Team owner Jack Roush, who was penalized 25 points in the owners standings, said Nov. 11 that a broken spring caused the violation.

Roush Fenway Racing can appeal the decision to the National Stock Car Racing Commission.
