Schumacher blows lesser drivers into weeds

With no traction control, meaning skill is now required in F1 again, Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher continued to steal the show at Barcelona, where he finished on top of the times for the second day in a row. Schumacher's best time of 1:21.486 put him nearly four tenths of a second ahead of McLaren's test driver Pedro de la Rosa, second fastest today.

Why he retired is beyond us because it's clear he is still head and shoulders above all other drivers, and now that traction control is eliminated he would easily win an 8th, 9th or 10th title.

For Sebastien Bourdais, today similar to yesterday's test with German Seb at the wheel of a car with the 2008 common ECU and French Seb driving a car with 2007 electronics, but with traction control and engine braking switched off. However, in the middle of the morning the two men swapped cockpits, primarily so that Bourdais could try the new suspension fitted on Vettel's car. In the afternoon, they reverted to their original chassis and Bourdais' afternoon program also included some aero testing while both men continued to evaluate new brake materials.
