Renault to sign Alonso, Horner predicts
That is the insistence of Christian Horner, who ruled Red Bull Racing out of the
running to woo the 26-year-old double world champion despite the speculation of
recent weeks.
Horner, Red Bull team principal, told the Spanish radio programme 'Al Primer Toque' that he believes "Fernando is going to end up at Renault" next year.
"We are delighted that Alonso has been linked with us," he added, "because it
demonstrates the progress we have made over the past two seasons.
"But our drivers have contracts for 2008."
Horner pointed out that, of the other teams that might be attractive to Alonso, only
Renault and Toyota are yet to fully confirm their 2008 lineups.
"Fernando appears to be very close to those options," the Briton observed.
