Gilmore returns to Earnhardt Childress

Richie Gilmore returned to Dale Earnhardt, Inc. this week after suffering an aneurysm Oct. 5. Gilmore, 43, the chief operating officer of Earnhardt Childress Racing Technology, said it "feels good" to be back at the shop, even if it was part-time.

"I have such a passion for what I do," Gilmore said. "I was so excited about getting back to work. We had a meeting at DEI on Wednesday with Teresa (Earnhardt), Richard (Childress) and they bussed in the RCR guys so I was able to speak with all the new employees under one roof. "I thought about coming down to Homestead this weekend, but the doctors don't want me to fly yet. Right now I have a lot of catching up to do."
