EuroSpeedway Lausitz: No.1 instead of Formula 1
Matthias Tomasetti and Hans-Joerg Fischer |
Klettwitz – EuroSpeedway Lausitz is the most successful motor racing circuit in Germany. This was announced by the two managing partners of EuroSpeedway Lausitz GmbH Hans-Joerg Fischer (41) and Matthias Tomasetti (39) with the publication of the 2006 business report. The company, which operates EuroSpeedway Lausitz in the Federal State of Brandenburg, earned an operating profit of more than one million Euro in the reporting year. Only three years after taking over the operation on January 1, 2004, the company has reached top position among the four permanently operated German motor racing circuits.
Hans-Joerg Fischer, managing partner of EuroSpeedway Lausitz GmbH: "With the support of a motivated team, continuous service orientation in all areas of the company, efficient cost management and the focus on profitable business, we've turned EuroSpeedway Lausitz GmbH, though located in one of Germany's poorest regions, into the most successful company in this sector."
Utilization of the circuit capacity was increased from 78.9 percent in 2004 to 92.1 percent in the reporting year 2006 by means of an active and target group-specific sales strategy. In the current business year 2007, utilization has further increased to 95.7 percent.
Fischer and Tomasetti, the two owners of the company, who each hold 50 percent of the company shares, have already managed the turnaround in 2004 and achieved break-even in 2005. For the current business year 2007, EuroSpeedway Lausitz GmbH once again estimates a seven-digit operating profit.
In contrast to the common subsidy policy in Germany, for example at the loss-making Formula 1 circuits Nurbürgring and Hockenheimring, EuroSpeedway Lausitz GmbH has not received a single cent of public money. Fischer and Tomasetti will move on without asking for any subsidies.
