Bourdais shows good pace
Sebastien Bourdais at Jerez |
The four-day Jerez kicked off today for Toro Rosso Ferrari using both contracted race drivers as they continue preparations for next season.
As in Barcelona last month, Sebastian Vettel was driving the car with 2008 electronics, while multiple Champ Car champion Sebastien Bourdais had the 2007 package with the relevant driver aids switched off.
Vettel’s program therefore focused on development of gearbox and engine control systems, but his day was cut short due to a technical problem. However, prior to that, he did manage to complete a brake system evaluation.

Bourdais had a trouble-free day, completing the second highest number of laps. He worked on a front flap comparison while also carrying out an evaluation of front suspension solutions.
Bourdais was a solid sixth fastest on a 1:20.615s, while Vettel posted the 11th best time on a 1:21.060. Both drivers continue testing tomorrow. Toro Rosso Ferrari
