Grosjean confirmed at ART Grand Prix
Grosjean follows in the footsteps of Lewis Hamilton as an F3 champion with ASM to step immediately into the ART GP2 team, and both team bosses Nicolas Todt and Fred Vasseur are confident that he can follow in the Briton's enormous footsteps.
"Romain is the second driver after Lewis Hamilton who symbolizes the synergy between GP2 and the F3 Euro Series within the ART Grand Prix team," said Todt.
Todt was quick to reference this important element of parity. "It was important for ART Grand Prix to continue working with the Renault Driver Development Program," he confirmed, "and we are thrilled that Romain cements this profitable collaboration. The choice of Romain continues ART Grand Prix’s tradition of securing the best drivers in the advancing formulas of the support series and to help them succeed on the highest level."
Fred Vasseur was clearly delighted with his new driver. "ART Grand Prix and Romain are already well known to each other after having dominated the F3 Euro Series championship in 2007," he enthused. "The speed the technical knowledge and the dedication of Romain in his work is a guarantee that ART will have one of the best drivers of his generation. The fact that he knows our team so well will smooth the progress of his adaptation to a very demanding championship."
Romain meanwhile, echoed the words of his team bosses, and admitted he can't wait to get to work. "I am very happy that Frederic Vasseur and Nicolas Todt have given me the chance to evolve in the best GP2 team and I hope to be able to pay them back with some good results. I am also very happy to continue working with the same team that brought me to the title in the F3 Euro Series. The objective will be to repeat this result in GP2."
