McGill Motorsports looking for ride-buyer
After entering their first race on July 4, 2003, in Daytona, McGill Motorsports has made steady progress and is looking to continue building the team in a consistent manner that will ensure success. Proving they are a competitive organization, 2004 Grand Am Champion, 'Mad' Max Papis agreed to drive the #36 Chevrolet in Watkins Glen during the 2006 season. Luring recognized talent such as Papis is not easy, however they proved themselves worthy, as Papis took the green flag in the 43rd position, and when the checkered flag waved he found himself recording a remarkable 14th place finish. Papis would pick up 29 positions on a road course that afternoon in upstate New York, further proving the ability and potential of the McGill Motorsports team.
“That was a good day and we all had fun," Papis said, as he recalled the afternoon in Watkins Glen. “These guys are good guys and they deserve a sponsor and a driver that will do a good job for them. Unfortunately, this sport is very expensive and it takes sponsor dollars to make the team run. John (McGill, team owner) and Ricky (Pearson, crew chief) are good people and I hope for good things for them and the team."
A month from now, the NASCAR Nationwide Series will descend on Daytona International Speedway for the opening test session of the 2008 season. McGill Motorsports is looking forward to another season in the nation's #2 racing series, but it will take a sponsor and a driver to ensure the team arrives ready to race in Daytona in February.
Multiple sponsorship packages are available, and they can be tailored to fit specific marketing and budgeting requirements, including regional programs in order to target a certain geographical area. For more information, please contact team owner John McGill at (561) 741-6108.
