What – a Corvette again?
How about rewarding Honda for it's inexplicable unwavering support of the IRL? Perhaps an S 2000CR or a V-6 Accord Coupe would look good pacing the
field. Every other car on the track has a Honda engine – why not the pace car?
If they must stay with an American car (after all, we all know Tony George wouldn't dare go against tradition), how about one of the many hot Mustangs
available?
Viper, anyone? Cadillac STS?
I really miss the days when there was variety in the Indy pace car selection. Gordon Knight
Dear Gordon, It's not a matter of being selected to be the pace car at Indy each year. It's whoever pays the most money to the Speedway for the privilege each year. It's interesting to see that the car will be powered with E85 Ethanol. After Champ Car has been talking about switching to E85 Ethanol, the IRL (which uses 100% ethanol in its cars) once again trumped them with this pace car announcement. Mark C.
