No launch for Williams team
The Toyota-powered FW30 will make its test debut in the opening weeks of January, but with no major new sponsors or driver revelations to make, it is believed that the Grove built machine will clock up its first miles without fanfare.
Although aided by McLaren's disqualification for spying, Williams finished the 2007 constructors' championship a credible fourth — a vast improvement compared with the previous season.
Nico Rosberg will be joined by rookie teammate Kazuki Nakajima at the wheel of the FW30 in 2008, with rising German youngster Nico Hulkenberg recently signed as a test driver.
"In terms of overall performance, narrowing the margin to the front runners, having concluded the (2007) season an average of eight tenths of a second behind the leading team, will be vital to the principal goal of elevating the team up the constructors' ladder," an excerpt from an official team review recently said.
