Viso vows to work towards F1 future
Ernesto Viso |
(GMM) Venezuelan hopeful Ernesto Viso has not given up on breaking into formula one.
The 22-year-old drove Midland's third car on the Friday of the Brazilian grand prix in 2006, before reportedly narrowly missing out on a Toro Rosso race seat for 2007.
Viso then attracted F1 headlines for the wrong reasons last year when he crashed spectacularly in the GP2 support race at Magny Cours.
He recently tested for Minardi Team USA in view of switching to Champ Cars in 2008.
But he told the American news agency Associated Press: "F1 is always my first option. I really liked it (in Brazil) and I think I did a good job.
"I'm going to keep working hard to be there," Viso, who is reportedly backed by the oil company Petroleos de Venezuela, added.
