GM plans to unveil compact Hummer

The HX is engineered to run on gasoline or E-85 ethanol

General Motors Corp. plans to introduce a more compact Hummer concept vehicle Sunday at the North American International Auto Show.

While still a four-wheel-drive vehicle, the four-seat concept vehicle is intended to have a youthful, entry-level appeal. The HX has removable doors and roof panels to provide drivers with the ability to quickly convert from a closed vehicle to an open one. It also has removable fender flares for additional trail or rock clearance while off-roading.

The Hummer HX concept is scheduled to debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show on Sunday.
