No agreement on cost-cutting measures
Yesterday, the F1 team bosses met with Max Mosley in Paris for a meeting about the radical cost-cutting plans of the FIA president. We hear that the bosses and Mosley failed to agree on the details of the cost-cutting measures.
The meeting was organized by the President of the FIA, Max Mosley, to give more details on the cost-cutting proposals that include limitations on aerodynamic testing, rig testing, design and manufacturing, suspension and brakes, hydraulic systems, bodywork, weight distribution, circuit testing and the number of personnel at races.
The one point on which everyone is in agreement is that costs do need to be cut and with this in mind there will now be a period of lobbying and discussion before proposals are put together. Without unanimous agreement of all the teams it is too late to make changes to the rules at such short notice – per the F1 regulations.
