PCM hosts The History Channel’s “Modern Marvels�
10/31/07 Oxnard, CA – Pacific Coast Motorsports, a two-car team in the Champ Car World Series will be featured on the January 14, 2008 episode of The History Channel’s “Modern Marvels."
The episode which was filmed Monday at the team’s Oxnard, California headquarters will be titled “Carbon" and will prominently feature PCM’s DP01 Champ Cars, team and corporate partners. The film crew for the hit television show featured the team’s uses of carbon fiber; a significant material used on the Champ Car and its accessories.
“Modern Marvels is a terrific show that explains in layman’s terms the technologies behind many of today’s achievements," said PCM Team Director, Tyler Tadevic. “The Champ Car World Series is one of the most technologically advanced racing series in the world. Modern Marvels is the perfect program to showcase our race cars, and a valuable national exposure opportunity for our team and corporate partners."
The Modern Marvels film crew, along with PCM’s neighbors witnessed the sights and sounds of Alex Figge’s 750 hp Champ Car as he lit up his Bridgestone tires on Elevar street in front of the PCM’s headquarters. “I think we certainly surprised a few people in Oxnard today," commented Alex Figge. “Most of our neighbors know we are a race team, but I think they were all surprised at just how loud, powerful and exciting the Champ Cars are."
Modern Marvels is a documentary television series on The History Channel that answers the question of how many things in the modern world are possible, and where they came from.
