NASCAR firmly behind Rudy Giuliani

Champ Car's Paul Newman appears to be the lone racing personality in the Democrat camp, having donated $4,600 to the Barack Obama campaign. The NASCAR contingency has historically been pro-Republican since most come from the bible-belt south and this year appears to be no exception. Many in NASCAR land have donated to the Rudy Giuliani campaign, a losing cause it would appear based on recent results. Did former NY City Mayor Giuliani promise NASCAR a race in NY City if he got elected?
