Northeastern Supply to sponsor Braun team

One of NASCAR’s longest running race team sponsors, the Northeastern Supply Company, will keep its streak alive in 2008 by announcing that it will move its support in the NASCAR Nationwide Series (formerly the Busch Series) to the #38 Great Clips Toyota from Braun Racing.

The leading, regional distributor of plumbing, heating, HVAC, water systems and hardware products in six Mid-Atlantic states will now have been involved in some form of team sponsorship in the Nationwide Series for 16 consecutive years.

“NASCAR racing has long been a large part of our customer marketing activities, and as long as our customers continue to enjoy coming to the races as our guests and strengthening their business relationships with us, we will continue in this role of sponsoring teams in the NASCAR Nationwide Series," said Steve Cook, President and CEO of the 31-branch company headquartered in Baltimore.

“Almost everyone within our company and the majority of our customers love NASCAR racing, and our ability to have them meet our drivers and team members and to relax and have some fun attending the races is paramount to us supporting these types of events.

“Everyone knows that the housing market is down now, and that certainly affects our business in terms of new construction projects. That gives us an even greater reason to maintain our ties to the NASCAR program and to make our customers a part of it," Cook added.

The familiar Northeastern Supply Company logo graced the #1 Miccosukee Gaming & Resort Chevrolet race cars the last two seasons in Nationwide Series competition with drivers Mike Wallace and J.J. Yeley behind the wheel. Previous Northeastern Supply sponsorship ties have been with teams that have featured such drivers as Kenny Wallace, Jason Keller, Hank Parker, Jr., Phil Parsons, Sterling Marlin, Kevin Lepage and Tim Fedewa.

“We’re excited about having Northeastern Supply on board for the 2008 season," said team owner Todd Braun. “They’ve been a sponsor in the Nationwide Series for a long time, so for us to have such a long-standing supporter of our Series join our team in truly an honor. Northeastern Supply has been a part of some great teams in the past and we plan to keep that tradition of success alive in 2008," Braun added.

Northeastern Supply will be joining the Dollar General Corporation as an associate sponsor of the #38 Great Clips Toyota.
