PCM to test Figge and Martinez at Sebring
Preparations for the 2008 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series officially begin next week at Sebring International Raceway. Alex Figge, driver of the #29 PCM Champ Car will complete all three days as he prepares for his sophomore season of Champ Car competition. Figge will be joined by David Martinez, of Monterrey, Mexico in the #28 PCM/DP01. Martinez made an impressive showing in the final two rounds of Champ Car competition in 2007, with his 10th place finish at Surfers Paradise and his strong performance at Mexico City where he looked set to finish in the top-six before a mechanical failure in his Forsythe Racing machine. A graduate of the Champ Car Atlantic Series, Martinez has three Champ Car starts under his belt and is looking forward to his first full season in 2008, “I’m very happy, it’s been a long off season for me and we worked extremely hard on getting everything ready for this year," said Martinez. He continued, “I’m very excited to be able to go to Sebring with Pacific Coast Motorsports. I have always been very fond of the team, and I actually started my Champ Car career with their junior team, so it’s a great feeling to be able to drive their car again. This will be great opportunity to get to know and evaluate each other and build some foundation and relationships so we can start on the right foot if we end up being together for the full season this year. Everybody knows Champ Car is huge in Mexico and also among the Hispanic community in the United States so I’m really looking forward to giving everybody a great result at this test and hopefully for the whole year."
