NASCAR.COM Revs Up for Season with New Innovative Products
In addition to innovative enhancements to TrackPass RaceView, NASCAR.COM is launching a Daytona 500 50th Running microsite, which offers fans a complete historical look at 50 years of the sport’s legendary race. The microsite will feature extensive photo and video galleries that focus on the race’s most memorable moments, the drivers who won the races and the crew chiefs and pit crews who worked behind the scenes. There will also be a special flashback piece to the 1979 Daytona 500, the race many believe put NASCAR on the map, which included an exhilarating finish and a scuffle between drivers Cale Yarbrough and Donny and Bobby Allison. NASCAR.COM’s Daytona 500 microsite will host the most historical race footage available on the Web.
NASCAR fans who are on the go will not miss a minute of action thanks to NASCAR.COM TrackPass Mobile, which will send all NASCAR.COM content to mobile devices for the first time ever. Featuring the latest live action, news and stats, as well as video and audio clips and PitCommand for real-time race information, NASCAR.COM TrackPass Mobile will ensure that fans do not miss a lap of NASCAR action. NASCAR.COM TrackPass Mobile is $9.95 per month and fans can sign up at NASCAR.COM or via text message (text TRACKPASS to 62727).
NASCAR.COM is also pulling out the stops with enhanced editorial coverage in 2008, most notably daily opinion pieces from NASCAR.COM writers, weekly features on the sport’s rising stars, and the return of fan favorite features including Power Rankings, Head2Head and Track Smack.
Turner Sports acquired all of NASCAR’s interactive rights in October 2000 and became the exclusive producer of NASCAR.COM in January 2001. NASCAR.COM is one of the fastest growing sports league sites on the Web, consistently ranking among the top three sport sites on the Internet. In 2003, NASCAR.COM was awarded an Emmy® by the National Television Academy for its TrackPass with PitCommand application and was nominated for an Emmy in 2007 for TrackPass RaceView. Along with NASCAR.COM, Turner Sports is also the exclusive producer of PGA.com and PGATour.com.
