Hornish would consider Memorial Day double

Sam Hornish Jr. is focused on NASCAR Sprint Cup racing this season, but he hasn’t completely forgotten his IndyCar Series roots. He admits that at some point he might consider running the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on the same day in May.

A rookie with the Penske Racing NASCAR team, he still thinks about returning to Indianapolis in an open-wheel car someday.

“I'd consider it," he said. “… Obviously with Penske Racing having both an IndyCar team and a stock-car team, that would be optimal for me to be able to do it. You have to go through getting the sponsors to be interested in that. Obviously I think that we need to be doing a little bit better in the points at that point in time to even think about that."
