Athletes throughout the U.S. will gather in Nevada to participate in the annual Land Rover G4 Challenge. Twenty individuals will compete in various driving and outdoor adventure activities in hopes of advancing to the event’s international race, to be held in early 2009 in Asia. Prior to heading overseas, contestants must complete a series of off-road driving excursions and adventures that will take place in the Nevada Passage. The Nevada Passage, erected in 2005, was developed by the Nevada Commission on Tourism and is a made-for-TV course designed to highlight the state’s topography. This year marks only the second time a U.S. team has participated in the global competition and the first time the Land Rover G4 Challenge will raise funds for charity: the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
