Snow causes Nationwide qualifying to be canceled

Nationwide Series qualifying for the Nicorette 300 was being canceled due to snow at Atlanta Motor Speedway. The field will be set on 2007 series final owners points, which puts Richard Childress Racing's Jeff Burton on the pole. Kyle Busch, driving the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota, starts second. Roush Fenway Racing's Carl Edwards, the 2007 driver champion, starts third. Richard Childress Racing's Clint Bowyer starts fourth since his No. 2 team swapped points with the No. 21 in the offseason and Michael Waltrip Racing's David Reutimann rounds out the top five.

There are only 43 cars entered, so all competitors made the field.

The race is scheduled for a 2 p.m. EST start. There is a 30 percent chance of snow flurries and rain, but it is expected to dissipate by early this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
