McLaren snaps up Ferrari sponsor

(GMM) Olympus, the former formula one sponsor for Ferrari, has switched camps to McLaren, the British team announced on Wednesday.

The Mercedes-powered outfit said the company will be 'official supplier of photographic services' in 2008, with British snapper Jon Nicholson to spend the season in the McLaren garage to capture the on and off track action.

"It's always a tremendous boost for (the team) when we announce a new partner and to be able to do so only a few days before the start of the new season in Australia makes it even more significant," said team boss Ron Dennis.

Olympus sponsored Ferrari until the end of last year.
