BMW: A few small modifications for Bahrain

Mario Theissen

After two successful races in Australia and Malaysia, the BMW Sauber F1 Team is preparing for the third successive overseas race, the Bahrain Grand Prix, where BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen is hoping that the team's successful run will continue.

"I hope that we can continue our successful run and qualify for the first two or three rows on the grid," Theissen said, looking ahead to the race in the desert emirate. "If we manage that, then there is always a good chance of finishing in a podium position."

After a two week break, the thrilling 2008 World Championship will move to the Bahrain International Circuit on the 6th of April, and with two second place finishes to their name as they hold firm to second place in the Constructors' Championship, the Hinwil based squad is eager for more.

Compared to the winter tests, the F1.08 has improved dramatically and has significantly reduced the gap to the top two teams and even though no tests are on the program before the Bahrain Grand Prix, development continues.

"There will not be many new components in Bahrain. We will take a big step in Barcelona. However, there will be a few small modifications for Bahrain," says Theissen.
