De Ferran signs Pagenaud

Gil de Ferran announced Friday in Long Beach that Simon Pagenaud would team with him to drive the 4th Acura entry in the ALMS series. The two time ChampCar Champion and Indy 500 winner said he was disappointed that the team could not debut here this weekend, but they will debut in Salt Lake City. Testing has already begun at Sebring, de Ferran's first time in a car in 4 years. The first major sponsor for the team will be Panasonic. De Ferran said he had a lot of candidates for the ride but he felt Pagenaud was a driver the team could grow with. He was intelligent and very committed, and Walker Racing had a lot of good things to say about him – important factors in his decision.
