Todt gets behind FIA chief Mosley

Jean Todt, Ferrari's former team principal, bucked the clamor for Max Mosley to resign with a staunch defense of the embattled FIA president.

His comments came as Mosley faces pressure from top manufacturers, ex-world champions and leading motoring organizations to step down after allegations that he paid for a Nazi-themed sex session.

But Todt, the son of a Polish Jew, refutes the News of the World's accusation that Mosley is anti-Semitic. Absolutely not," he said. "He's a true president. He knows his brief and is a great worker, reliable, very intelligent, a man of rare elegance. He's a true leader. I'm still amazed people concentrate on things which are nothing to do with his role."

Todt's views echoed Mosley's own contention in an interview published on Sunday that an 'eccentric' private life is not a reason to resign. Daily Mail
