Discount Tire to sponsor Kvapil’s No. 28

Yates Racing officials announced today that Discount Tire will sponsor the team's No. 28 NASCAR Sprint Cup entry with driver Travis Kvapil for this weekend’s Crown Royal 400 at Richmond International Raceway.

Kvapil enters the race 23rd in the standings after his season-best finish of sixth last weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

"There’s a lot of momentum right now at Yates Racing, and thanks to all the wonderful sponsors we’ve enjoyed partnerships with already this year, we’re very grateful that companies recognize our increased performance both on and off the track," he said.

Saturday night's race will mark the first time the tire retailer has been a primary sponsor in the Cup series. It has been in the Nationwide Series since 2004.
