Tickets sales dip slightly for Iowa 250
Iowa Speedway co-owner Rusty Wallace says ticket sales for the Iowa Corn Indy 250 are slightly behind last year's numbers.
Wallace says the struggling economy is partly to blame for the dip in sales.
He says he is confident this year's race will draw a crowd similar to last year, when the race drew more than 35,000 fans. His goal is to top 40,000.
The speedway at Newton hopes the upcoming Indy 500, Danica Patrick's recent win and the Champ Car/IRL unification will boost ticket sales.
Wallace also says the parking problems that plagued the inaugural race have been fixed. AP Article
