Indy Speedway arrests 24

A rain-soaked practice season so far hasn’t meant a shortage of business for police near the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Officers made 24 arrests from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon – a day when action on the track was blocked by rain. Police in the town of Speedway said most of the arrests, 10, were for public intoxication.

Two people were charged with dealing heroin, two for marijuana possession, one for pointing a firearm and one on a charge of driving under the influence. Most of the rest were arrested on warrants and driving offenses. The Indianapolis Star
