Monaco Grand Prix Highlights Memorial Day Weekend Racing on SPEED

Memorial Day weekend racing on SPEED opens with the 900-horsepower Advance Auto Parts World of Outlaws sprint cars taking on The Dirt Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway on Friday (8 p.m. ET) and concludes with the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series event Monday from historic Lime Rock Park (2 p.m. ET).

“This weekend is all about versatility," said SPEED President Hunter Nickell. “As we do with NASCAR all season long, we will have a huge presence at Charlotte in support of the Coca-Cola 600 with shows like NASCAR RaceDay, Trackside and Victory Lane, but we also will be all over the World of Outlaws event, the Monaco Grand Prix and the Rolex event from Lime Rock. There is something for every race fan this weekend and we’re having a blast with it."

Rolling into the weekend, SPEED kicks off Thursday with a day of live practice sessions from F1, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and the NASCAR Nationwide Series before ending under the lights at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with Pole Night qualifying for the Coca-Cola 600.

Bobby Gerould will handle play-by-play for Friday’s World of Outlaws race, with Brad Doty delivering analysis and Shane Andrews and Sarah Jane Hunt in the pits for the first of five multi-hour WoO shows in 2008.

On Saturday, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series takes to the half-mile oval at Mansfield Motorsports Park (1 p.m. ET; NCTS Setup at 12:30 p.m. ET) with Rick Allen and Phil Parsons in the booth and Ray Dunlap and Adam Alexander in the pits.

And on Sunday, Bob Varsha, Steve Matchett, David Hobbs and Peter Windsor deliver coverage of the iconic Monaco Grand Prix (7:30 a.m. ET), long considered the shiniest jewel in the Formula One crown.

On Memorial Day, the SPEED crew of Leigh Diffey, Dorsey Schroeder, Calvin Fish, Brian Till and Chris Neville will deliver comprehensive coverage of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series event from Lime Rock (2 p.m. ET).
