FIA confirm Vettel penalty

The FIA have confirmed that Sebastian Vettel will be handed a five-grid slot penalty for Sunday's Monaco GP after changing his gearbox.

Vettel's team Toro Rosso are racing their new STR3 for the first time at this weekend's Monte Carlo race.

However, a new car means a new gearbox and that, for Vettel at least, means a penalty as the German was not supposed to change his gearbox for another three races.

Under this year's regulations the same gearbox must be used for four races and Vettel had only used his for one event, the Turkish GP.
