Patrick, Briscoe still not yet over accident
In case you didn't have a chance to watch the Indy 500 Awards Banquet tonight, race winner Scott Dixon was very gracious and gave a heartfelt speech about his team and family. Scott's parents were interviewed backstage and were extremely proud of Scott for winning the Indy 500. When many of the drivers congratulated Dixon for his win, they also included kudos to Chip Ganassi. But when it came Chip's turn to talk, he reminded his competitors that he was assigned to work on Dan Wheldon's car for the race, and that it was Mike Hull who deserved the praise for Scott's win. Bob Jenkins was the host, and prodded Danica and Briscoe to talk about their incident. Neither one of them would say much, and were obviously still not over it. They didn't show any sense of humor about what happened. Tony Kanaan and Marco Andretti joked a little bit about what happened between them though. They were both very pleasant and sounded like they were ready to put the incident behind them and move on as teammates. Townsend Bell thanked Milka Duno for having the Dreyer and Reinbold garage smell so nice during the month of May! As each driver came to the stage for their award, the popular song was played from the year that each of them received their driver's license. John Andretti's theme song was Rod Stewart singing "Do you think I'm sexy?". In John's self-effacing manner, he commented that he thought that song was appropriate.
