Texas Friday Notebook

Although it is based in Indianapolis, Vision Racing could consider Texas Motor Speedway its home track. Driver A.J. Foyt IV, a native of Hockley, Texas, is the only Texan in the field, but Foyt, grandson of four-time Indianapolis 500 winner A.J. Foyt, isn't Vision Racing's only Texas tie this weekend. Bruce Rust, a resident of nearby Bedford, is again helping the team this weekend. Rust, who is a pharmacist at Medco Health, spent most of the Month of May as the front-end mechanic for Davey Hamilton's car, which was also fielded by Vision Racing.

John Andretti will attempt to make his first IndyCar Series start and 17th career start at Texas Motor Speedway. The veteran race driver made seven NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts on the 1.5-mile oval from 1997 to 2003 with a best finish of 12th in 1997 and nine NASCAR Nationwide Series starts from 1997-2006 with a best finish of 12th in 1997.

Upset drivers – Bruno Junqueira – "We have a bad car."…….Tony Kanaan – "We don’t have a good car!!! We are not ready this weekend!!! We don’t even have a good race car!"

Danica was mad at everybody Thursday and Friday, voicing complaints about her race car, which she called "average again" and Andretti Green Racing, which she thinks is "just missing something" and IndyCar TV ratings which "disappointed" her and even her sponsor Motorola that "I wish that they would do more than they do."
