Both Toro Rossos crash on Saturday

(GMM) Toro Rosso will have its spare parts department tested to the limit at Montreal, after both Sebastian Vettel and his teammate separately crashed in the final practice session before qualifying on Saturday.

Vettel's high speed crash, at the exit of turn 9, was the most severe, while although leaving him unhurt, the red flags waved for nearly ten minutes so that marshals could clear the debris.

The stoppage left just a few minutes on the clock when the session resumed, but Frenchman Sebastien Bourdais – in the sister Ferrari-powered STR3 – then clouted the wall at turn 5.

The late-session chaos left Williams' Nico Rosberg leading the timesheet, with his teammate Kazuki Nakajima a promising fifth for the Grove team.

Vettel ended the 90 minute session tenth overall despite his crash, while Bourdais remained twelfth.
