NASCAR penalizes Compton’s truck crew chief

NASCAR officials announced Tuesday that Bryant Frazier, crew chief for the No. 4 Bobby Hamilton Racing-Virginia Dodge driven by Stacy Compton in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has been fined and placed on probation for an infraction occurring during last week's event at Texas Motor Speedway.

Frazier was fined $2,000 and placed on probation until Dec. 31 for violating a rule governing the rear-axle housing offset.

The infraction was discovered Thursday during prerace inspection for the Sam's Town 400.
