I’ve never given up hope to re-enter F1
With his NASCAR career over, Villeneuve longs for a return to F1, a return that will never happen – he's too slow now. |
Former World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, who finished second in this weekend's Le Mans race, said that he would love to return to F1 if the opportunity would occur. The Canadian driver ended his F1 career during the 2006 season after BMW Sauber opted to give Robert Kubica a chance in the F1.06.
Jacques Villeneuve said to Italian racing magazine 'Autosprint': "I'm not saying that I don't want to return to Formula One. I'm open to the idea, certainly with the new technical situation. To be honest, I have no idea if it would be possible. I have never given up hope to re-enter F1. I have driven in some other series, but that was only because there were no vacant seats in F1. If the opportunity would occur, certainly with the new regulations, I would love to get back to work."
