Kimi, Hamilton, met in Ferrari motor home
It is believed the pair discussed how to handle their joint appearance at the FIA press conference later that day at Magny-Cours.
It was inevitable that attending reporters would ask the pair, in contention for the 2008 world championship, about their clash in the pitlane during the Canadian grand prix two weeks ago.
Finn Raikkonen, who drives for Ferrari, was critical of Hamilton's inattention at Montreal immediately following the incident, but at Magny-Cours he insisted that he had "not much to say".
"I didn't score any points, so it was a bit of a bad weekend but those come sometimes," he added.
Hamilton, meanwhile, dismissed the crash – for which he will be pushed back ten places on the grid at Magny-Cours – as "such a silly, small incident".
