Suzuki pulls out of 2009 Detroit auto show

Suzuki Motor Corp. has pulled out of the 2009 North American International Auto Show, saying the space offered — relegated to Michigan Hall — didn't meet its needs.

The Japanese automaker, beginning a new-product push, will instead devote its efforts to other shows and events.

"For this year we felt that we'd concentrate on some more regional shows and allocate our marketing dollars in a more personal, direct way at those shows," said Jeff Holland, spokesman for Suzuki.
