Legge, Albers light and ready for a fight at Norisring

Futurecom TME duo Katherine Legge and Christijan Albers are in a confident mood heading to the blue riband DTM round of the season at the Norisring.

The only team on the grid to be running 2006-specification cars this season, both Legge and Albers' cars are hoping to benefit from having slightly lighter vehicles than their rivals around the legendary high-speed street circuit.

Indeed, with ‘used' machines often performing better around the low downforce Nurnburg circuit than they would elsewhere, former race winner Albers believes he is capable of challenging further up the field this weekend.

"The Norisring is always a very special event with its great atmosphere. I hope that we'll be good there. I think we should be closer to the new cars with the 2006 cars. We'll see what's possible."

Another new circuit for Legge, the Brit nonetheless believes her experience of racing around numerous street circuits in the USA will stand her in better stead.

"I have some experience with street races from my Champ Car days," she said. “Everybody says that the atmosphere at the Norisring is fantastic which is why I so looking forward to the race after the five-week DTM break."
