NASCAR slams foul-mouthed crew chief

NASCAR announced today that it has fined Chad Walter, crew chief of JR Motorsports' No. 5 Chevrolet, $10,000 for using "improper language" on television during Saturday's Camping World 200 Nationwide Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Walter also remains on probation until Dec. 31.

Team owner Rick Hendrick was also penalized 25 Nationwide Series owner points, and driver Landon Cassill was penalized 25 driver points.

Walter was placed on probation in February because of rule violations during the season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway.
