NASCAR phenom to race truck at Kentucky
Kyle Busch talks to team owner Billy Ballew |
NASCAR's hottest driver, Kyle Busch, will be back behind the wheel of the No. 51 Miccosukee Resort Billy Ballew Motorsports Toyota Tundra for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at the Kentucky Speedway Saturday, July 19, 2008. Busch was last behind the wheel for Ballew in June at the Michigan International Speedway where he posted a seventh-place finish.
Busch, the young driving phenom will be making his first start in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at the 1.5-mile intermediate track for the 150 Lap /225 Mile race. He has three starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series at the Kentucky Speedway scoring one win in 2004. Busch’s first start at the Kentucky Speedway in an ARCA RE/MAX Series car resulted in victory in 2004.
“I’ve never raced a truck at Kentucky," says Busch. “Kentucky is one of my favorite places. It’s always a lot of fun. I’ve raced Nationwide cars and won there, and I’ve won in the ARCA car there. Hopefully, our Cup test there last week helped me get a better sense and feel for the place and what I can learn there for the truck. I’m kind of itching to get back into the Truck Series."
