Mid-Ohio: Kanaan tops opening IndyCar practice

AGR's Tony Kanaan ran out of gas just near the end of the morning practice session for the IndyCars at Mid-Ohio, but not before turning the fastest lap of the session, just 0.044s faster than Team Penske's Helio Castroneves.

Scott Dixon was third for Target Chip Ganassi Racing ahead of Justin Wilson in the McDonald's car and Ryan Briscoe in the 2nd Team Penske entry.

The air temperature for the session was 85 degrees and the track temperature 115 degrees under sunny skies and a light breeze.
