Sutil has Force India contract for 2009

(GMM) Adrian Sutil on Friday said he has a contract to remain with the Force India team in 2009.

Alongside veteran Giancarlo Fisichella this year, the 25-year-old German has had a less spectacular season than as a rookie in 2007 — when speculation singled him out as a potential replacement for Fernando Alonso at McLaren.

The plaudits have been quieter in 2008, but Sutil said in Hungary he is comfortable about his future.

"For the moment I am relaxed," he is quoted as saying in Budapest by motorsport-total.com.

"My contract is valid also for next year," Sutil confirmed.

Sutil said he is not worried about the threat posed to his seat by Karun Chandhok, the Indian driver who is hoping to move up from GP2 next year with the team owned by his countryman and long-time supporter Vijay Mallya.

"For the moment I see no danger," Sutil insisted. "The contract is firm, and the team has always been very loyal to me.

"Both of us (current drivers) have done well so I think there is no reason why the team would want to change," he added.
