Bourdais penalized for Heidfeld block

(GMM) Sebastien Bourdais has been demoted five positions on the grid for the Hungarian grand prix.

The Frenchman qualified his Toro Rosso in 14th position on Saturday, but BMW-Sauber competitor Nick Heidfeld – who subsequently dropped out of the initial 'Q1' segment – complained that he was held up through the final corner.

F1 rookie Bourdais, who will now start the grand prix from P19 following the stewards' enquiry, was on an out-lap at the time.

"Sebastien was right in my way," an angry Heidfeld, who did not get out of his car immediately after missing the cut, said.

He explained: "I was hoping it was so obvious he would be penalized right away and I could still get into Q2."
