Rob Bell drafted in by Risi team

British driver Rob Bell heads to America this weekend to join the Risi Competizione team in the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) at the Road America Circuit. Bell, the reigning GT2 Le Mans Series Champion will partner Harrison Brix in place of the injured Patrick Friesacher for the race and will drive a Ferrari 430 in only his second ALMS event.

The outing will be the first time Bell has driven at the four mile Road America track in Wisconsin and will also be his debut outing with the Risi Competizione team. Bell has already raced in the ALMS this season at Sebring in March, when he made his debut in the GT2 class with Tafel Racing, driving a Ferrari. Bell’s wealth of experience and proven abilities in Europe in the Ferrari 430 for both the Virgo Motorsport team in the Le Mans Series, and CR Scuderia in the FIA GT Championship, has brought him to the attention of the Risi Competizione team.

Bell commented about the up coming race, “It’s great to be asked to join the Risi Competizione team this weekend, it’s a bit last minute but I’m really looking forward to it. The Road America circuit is renowned for being a driver’s circuit and a great challenge, and it will be a new track for me, which will give me good experience. I’m driving with a new team for me, in only my second ALMS event, but I’m optimistic. From racing GT’s in Europe I am very familiar with the Ferrari 430 car so I hope to be able to step up to the plate and be as competitive as my teammate."
