Franchitti to compete in seven more Nationwide races for Ganassi

Chip Ganassi Racing officials announced Wednesday that Dario Franchitti will compete in seven more Nationwide Series races this season, beginning with this weekend’s Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International.

In addition to Watkins Glen, Franchitti will drive the team’s No. 40 Nationwide Dodge at Michigan, Bristol, Richmond, Kansas, Charlotte and Phoenix.

“I’m really looking forward to going to the Glen for my first Nationwide race there, as it’s a track I have always enjoyed," Franchitti said. “The No. 40 Fastenal Dodge has been quick all year, and as a team we’re really looking forward to continued success throughout the rest of the season. I have confidence in [crew chief] Brad Parrott and the boys that we can get it done at Watkins Glen, particularly after a very productive and enjoyable test at Road Atlanta last week."
